Mr. Abu Bockarie >
Mr. Abu Bockarie, a native of the Kono District in the Eastern Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone, is the Director of Administration and personnel of Transtech International Limited. He brings to his position a cutting edge approach to employee management, having gained expertise and experience working in very difficult circumstances when he first branched out to the field of personnel management and administration.
Earlier Mr. Bockarie served as Director of Governmental Affairs and Non-Governmental Organizations for Sieki Bockarie Development Company, a commercial enterprise with a focus to bring Sierra Leone up to scratch in the field of modern day communications. Mobilizing the expertise of cutting edge operators in the field of world-wide communications, Sieki Bockarie Development Company was able to bring some of the finest brains in the field to study, evaluated and provided a technical report mapping the way forward. Mr. Bockarie was charged with the responsibility of working with this group and brought a local angle to the research being himself, a trained engineer in the field of communications.
He worked for the Paramount Group of Companies in the foreign exchange bureau as Front Office Manager. He initiated motivational processes that included employee training in service industry competence. Mr. Bockarie later transferred to the Paramount Express Photo Laboratory as Manager. Paramount Photo was the principal contractor for UNAMSIL in the field of processing of all film materials and photography.
Mr. Bockarie started his working life at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service as an engineer. As senior engineer attached to the Leicester Peak site he installed and commissioned the first FM transmitter of the SLBS in 1992.
Mr. Bockarie has a Masters degree in Radio and Television Engineering from the Odessa Polytechnique Institute in Odessa, USSR. He also has post-graduate diplomas from the Philips International Institute for Technological studies in Eindhoven in the Netherlands, The Egyptian Radio and Television Training Centre, Cairo, Egypt and a Level-C post-graduate diploma in Digital Communications and Transmitters, British Broadcasting Corporation Training Centre, Evesham, United Kingdom. |
