Mr. Momoh K Konte >
Mr. Momoh K. Konte is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Transtech International Limited.
Mr. Konte has brought tremendous experience and expertise in the area of kick-starting institutions in developing countries, particularly so in the West African sub-region.
Prior to this time, Mr. Konte was Executive Director of the African Institute for Economic Education and Development. The institute established in 1979, is an educational economic and humanitarian non-profit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia. Mr. Konte provided the strategic management and operational oversight for four priority programmes on the continent. These included education-specialized technical training, scholarships, fellowships and research grants; communications-cooperative programmes with industry and government to upgrade infrastructure; health-services- in cooperation with industry, government and academic institutions and environmental protection and safety. Mr. Konte is committed to his life goal of improving the human and economic condition on the continent.
Mr. Konte served as Business Conselor and International Trade Consultant with the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) in Washington, DC; a programme co-sponsored by the centre for urban Progress at Howard University, and the mayor’s office on Latino Affairs along with the US Small Business Administration (SBA). His business counseling expertise includes Business Planning, Financing as well as hands on development of marketing and Sales Strategies. His International Trade expertise includes advising clients on Import/Export [R]requirements, Organising Trade Missions and advising on the Socio-Political conditions in countries where trade is prevalent.
Mr. Konte has served as a trade consultant to various major firms, including: Spectronics Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia; the Minority Media and Telecom Council, Washington, DC; Justin International, Washington, DC Comjet Aviation Group, Newark, New Jersey; The Fleming Group, Fort Wayne, Indiana; and the Support Network for Aviation Corporation in Montvale, New Jersey.
Mr. Konte held a number of supervisory and sales positions with Howard University, MCI World Com and South Corp.
Mr. Konte is a native Sierra Leone. He served as West African Regional Director for Forest Gate International Corporation, where he coordinated business for the company. He directed and implemented growth and development projects in the region and had bottom-line responsibility for business performances and employees. Mr. Konte also initiated community outreach programmes for Forest Gate in the Gambia, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Guinea.
Mr. Konte has an admirable wealth of international experience. As Managing Director of Sieki Bockarie Development Company, he was responsible for business activities in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and the Gambia. These services included employee training, sales, cost and profit forecasting. This service required a lot of travel as a brand consultant at conferences and business meetings world wide. He served as Regional Distributor for South Western Petroleum Corporation (SWEPCO) in the Maghreb States of Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Sierra Leone, Guinea and the Gambia were later added as his responsibilities. Responsibilities included overseeing production and marketing, employee training, product promotion at trade shows and new business development. He is also currently a lecturer at the Institute of Public Administration and Management, at the University of Sierra Leone.
Mr. Konte recently served as an Economic Adviser to the Technical Coordinating Committee of the Transition Team of His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. He is also a member of the World Internet Society.
Mr. Konte holds a B.A. with Howard University, Washington, D.C with majors in Economics and minor in Finance and an M.A. from the University of Toledo, Ohio. He also received a certificate from Penn Jersey Executive Session in Investment Banking and the Stock market. He has been honoured on the academic Dean’s list at the university as well as the National level. Mr. Konte is currently a Ph.D candidate at Walden University specializzing in "Leadership and Public Management".
He maintains residences in Washington, D.C. and Sierra Leone.
