Prince Kitoye Muzan-Ekpelu is currently attached to Transtech International Limited as Specialist/Consultant in Mechanical Engineering and also serves as Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. A consummate professional with vast experience in his field of study.

Before coming to Transtech International Limited, Mr. Muzan-Ekpelu has held down various positions in academia in Sierra Leone. Since 2002 he has also served as part-time lecturer in the Department of Automobile Engineering, Milton Margai College of Education and Technology, Freetown, Sierra Leone; whilst holding down the position of lecturer I in the Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering Department Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. In these positions his responsibilities have been mostly academic; teaching various Mechanical Engineering subjects at different levels, supervising final and non-final year degree projects. He is also charged with the evaluation / costing of equipment / vehicles of private and public Industrial workshops. He assesses the viability and the needs of Industrial workshops with a view to privatization. As part time Lecturer at Milton Margai College of Education and technology and Eastern Polytechnic, Kenema, Sierra Leone; he teaches various Automobile Engineering subjects. He has been the Chief Examiner in Mechanical/Automobile courses for the National Council for Technical Vocational and other Awards.

In 1999 – 2002, he was Lecturer II in the Department of Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering, Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone, teaching various Mechanical Engineering subjects at different levels.

Mr. Muzan-Ekpelu came to Sierra Leone as a Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) volunteer in 1996. He was deployed to the Freetown Technical Institute (now Milton Margai College of Education and Technology – MMCET) Freetown, Sierra Leone. During this period he taught various Automobile Engineering and other Engineering subjects. He was also charged with commercializing and Managing Automobile Maintenance workshop at MMCET. He assesses the needs of Technical/Vocational Education Institutions in Sierra Leone and recommends required tools and equipment.

Earlier in 1992 – 1996 worked for A.G. Leventis (Nigeria) PLC, Motors and Technical Division, Apapa Lagos, Nigeria. At Leventis he the manager of the Motor Vehicle Maintenance Workshop, supervising Technical and Administrative staff. His duties also included the installation and maintenance of production machines, Coordination, planning and maintenance / refurbishing of all Nigeria Bottling Company (NBC) trucks and their Engines.

Mr. Muzan-Ekpelu is currently doing research at the Division Education, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He currently holds an M.Phil (Master of Philosophy) degree in Education from the University of Sierra Leone, M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, “V.I. Lemin”, Sofia, Bulgaria, a diploma in Technology from Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology Madras, India.

Mr. Muzan-Ekpelu has a series of academic publications. Design and computation of Thermodynamic Parameters of a small turbo – Reactive Engine for a small Passenger Aircraft. Psychology as a science (an unpublished essay submitted to the Division of Education, Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone); personnel policies for teaching staff of technical subjects at technical education institutions – M.Phil-Thesis.

He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers, USA; Institute of Motor Industries, India; Institute of Automotive Engineers, India and Sierra Leone Institute of Engineers. He is a Nigerian currently resident in the Republic of Sierra Leone.
